It was the Stockton slugger's first UFC outing since November 2019 and speaking in his post-fight press conference, he expressed his desire for a quick turnaround.
And if his team have their wish, he'd square off with arch rival McGregor for a third time.
Asked who should be next for Diaz, Cesar Gracie replied via MMA Fighting: "I would think the trilogy versus [Conor] McGregor.

"I know that Nate wants tough fights. He is motivated by fighting the best guys."
Of course, McGregor and Diaz have already had two legendary battles - with the score 1-1.
The American submitted the Irishman at UFC 196 back in March 2016 while the 'Notorious' exacted revenge five months later, eking out a majority decision at UFC 202.
A rubber match has been mooted for some time now with McGregor talking up a third meeting prior to his UFC comeback against Dustin Poirier last January.

On his options, he said: "There are dangling carrots [...] treasure chests that get presented to me.
"We've got world titles in boxing now, there's talks of [...] I hear Dana talking [about] Nate Diaz coming back down to lightweight. I love that. I'd love to compete against Diaz. We will compete again.
"If that happens at lightweight for a title, that would be something special, also.
"So, there's many great options that are in the works and let's see what happens. I am ready."
Before a potential trilogy bout between McGregor and Diaz, the former UFC double champion has to get through Poirier as they meet in the main-event of UFC 264 next month.
