Dana White believes the blockbuster UFC middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa will be "Fight of the Year."

Adesanya vs. Costa has been made official for UFC 253 on September 26 with a location yet to be determined.

And the UFC president expects fireworks when Adesanya and Costa clash next month.

Speaking at the UFC 252 post-fight press conference, he said: "I don't know what you guys think, but I predict that's Fight of the Year.

"Like I said, Adesanya vs Costa is the Fight of the Year, I predict that's going to be an incredibly badass fight."

He added: "I think stylistically it's the perfect fight if you look at the way Costa fights, he puts pressure on you, he stays in your face the whole time.

"Adesanya likes to stay on the outside and pick you apart. I think that fight is going to be an absolute war.

"Just stylistically, it matches up really, really well. Both guys are animals, both guys want this fight really, really bad.

"I think it's going to be 'Fight of the Year.'"

The Nigerian-born Kiwi champion last fought at UFC 248 when he beat Yoel Romero by decision to defend his middleweight belt.

The Brazilian star, meanwhile, hasn't fought since last August when he also outpointed Romero at UFC 241.

Adesanya vs. Costa is also just the second fight in UFC history where two undefeated male fighters battle for a title.
