Conor McGregor is currently preparing to face Dustin Poirier on fight island next month, but still had time for his family this Christmas.

The Irishman is one of the most well-known UFC fighters ever, and has impressed audiences worldwide with his bouts against the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov in the octagon and Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring.

However, this time round it was McGregor being the one who was impressed, watching his son hit the punching bag over the holidays.

The 32-year-old was shouting encouragement as his kid pulled off some pretty impressive combinations for his age.

It might not be too long before we see another McGregor in combat sports at this rate, and it sounds like McGregor would be a proud dad if so.

In the meantime, the elder McGregor will likely be back training for his upcoming fight with Poirier.

It is the second time that the pair have faced each other, with McGregor defeating the American during his stratospheric rise to the top of the sport earlier this decade.

The trailer for the fight was pretty impressive, and fans will be eager to see McGregor in action again after his dismantling of Donald Cerrone last January.

The victory over Cerrone marked McGregor's return to more regular UFC fights after only fighting once in the octagon between December 2016 and 2020 - his defeat to Nurmagomedov. In that time he also lost to Mayweather in the boxing ring.

He is once again the favourite when he faces Poirier next month, but will have to look out for another upset like his defeat to Nate Diaz earlier in his career.
