Conor McGregor has hilariously been called out by UFC heavyweight star Derrick Lewis, who says he needs to fight him next.

Lewis is back in action on the weekend when he fights Curtis Blaydes in the main-event of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.

But he's got his eyes on another UFC fighter ahead of his heavyweight clash - none other than McGregor.

The 35-year-old bizarrely wants to face 'The Notorious' in his next UFC assignment.

Speaking at the virtual media day, via LowKickMMA, he joked: "There's one guy that has been talking trash for years that I want to fight.

"So, Conor McGregor, he's been calling me out so I believe I need to fight him next."

Of course, McGregor returns to the Octagon on January 23 as he rematches Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

For obvious reasons, the lightweight fighter won't be taking on 'The Black Beast' any time soon.

Anyway, the UFC heavyweight contender last fought in August when he outpointed Aleksei Oleinik.

He'll look to make it three wins from three bouts in 2020 on Saturday.

On Blaydes, Lewis said: "Just a typical crab in a bucket, one of those type of black guys, crab in a bucket. He doesn't want to see another black man make it. Typical."

Responding to Blaydes calling him "predictable", he replied: "Yeah, I am predictable. It's fine if he thinks I'm predictable. I don't care.

"They all know what I'm going to do, most of them... This will be my 21st fight in the UFC.

"My game plan and my game, the way I fight, my style hasn't changed.

"Guys said the same thing before. And you see that I'm the knockout king, so we'll just see. I'm predictable, OK. He's predictable, as well."
