It has been announced that Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov's bans have been extended until an investigation into their UFC 229 brawl is officially completed.

That's right. The temporary suspensions for both fighters have extended pending a full disciplinary hearing at the December 10 meeting.

But it has also been confirmed that a motion has been passed to release $1 million of Nurmagomedov's disclosed $2 million purse.

It is believed that the Nevada State Athletic Commission are keeping the other half pending the results of the ongoing investigation, according to MMA expert Ariel Helwani.

Khabib, who jumped the cage at the end of the fight and attacked Dillion Danis, later apologised for his actions in the post-fight press conference.

He also released the following statement on Instagram, firing shots at his opponent, telling him "I told you so."

"Friend, even now you are slowing down, I'm uncomfortable for you myself," he said via Instagram.

"I told you that on October 6, I would say everything - or did you actually think you could beat me in there?

"I apologise to everyone whom I have offended in our common victory. And my sincere Fans - you are just a space. Thank you for your incredible support, I love you, yours truly - Khabib Nurmagomedov."

"I want to say sorry to the athletic commission, sorry to Vegas. I know this is not my best side," he explained.

"I don't understand how people can say I jumped on the cage. He talked about my religion, my family, he came to Brooklyn and could have killed people on the bus.

"Why are we talking about me climbing on the cage? My father taught me to be respectful. Today, he tapped, the belt is here, undisputed, undefeated UFC Lightweight Champion. This is a respectful sport, not a trash-talking sport."
