Russia's boxing federation chief has shut down the idea of Khabib Nurmagomedov making a sensational crossover to boxing.
Nurmagomedov, 31, teased a potential boxing match with Floyd Mayweather after submitting Conor McGregor last year at UFC 229.

He issued a message to the 50-0 boxer, challenging him to a fight with Umar Kremlev holding talks with the MMA superstar about a fight inside the squared circle.
But Kremlev has now played down the chances of him switching to boxing, describing the situation as "unrealistic".
"No, they haven't made any more offers [for Khabib to switch to boxing]," he said.

"Switching to boxing from another sport, to me it seems unrealistic. If that happened and someone won, it would be a sensation. I think that Khabib is showing and proving in his sport that he's the best."
Don't expect Nurmagomedov to don a pair of 10oz gloves as he continues to wreak havoc inside the famed Octagon. He most recently defended his UFC lightweight title against Dustin Poirier last month.
He's expected to return to action in "March or April" in Russia, according to one of his managers.

"Khabib's next fight is being planned for March-April," Rizvan Magomedov said.
UFC president Dana White is working on a match-up between Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, who's on an impressive 12-fight winning streak.
Nurmagomedov and Ferguson have been matched up FOUR times but injuries or botched weight cuts have prevented the pair from competing.
