Adesanya makes his highly-anticipated UFC light-heavyweight debut this weekend as he faces 205lbs king Jan Blachowicz in the main-event of UFC 259.
And 'The Last Stylebender' is eyeing a clash with 'Bones' later this year having previously targeted a bout at the new Raiders stadium in Las Vegas.
Speaking about a potential move up in weight to heavyweight, he told Ariel Helwani: "Where does heavyweight fit into all of this?
"Like I said, I want to go back down to 185lbs, but I have to see how this plays out because... yeah, the continent of Africa deserves three world champions from the UFC, it is a stronger image, it is a stronger, more powerful connection, you know what I mean? So, yeah."
On a fight against Jones, he insists there must be a crowd with the UFC currently operating behind closed doors in America.
"Unfortunately, it may not be in summer or July, but there is still December. There is still December 2021," the 31-year-old added.
"All I know is that fight needs a crowd. I can't do that in an empty arena."

UFC president Dana White wants to see Adesanya and Jones go at it having previously revealed his desire to book them against each other.
"That's the fight I would love to see," he said about Jones vs. Adesanya back in December 2020.
"Somebody asked me yesterday if you could make one fight in 2021 - that's the fight that I picked."
Adesanya, who last fought in September 2020 when he destroyed Paulo Costa, returns to action this weekend while Jones is expected to make his heavyweight bow in the summer.
