And it appears he'll return to action in a few weeks, but not with the UFC.
According to widespread reports, 'Borz' will face UFC middleweight contender Jack Hermansson in a freestyle wrestling contest at Bulldog Fight Night on November 19.
'The Joker' took to social media to share information on his bout with the UFC phenom.
Chimaev, a Chechnya-born Swedish national, wants to stay active after battling with Covid-19.
Speaking after his dominant victory on 'Fight Island', he said: "Hey, Diaz, let's go, brother.
"Let's go. You gonna get some smoke, bro. Let's see who is the real gangster.
"Masvidal in his last fight he has some belt," added Chimaev referring to the 'BMF' title. "I'm going to take everything from this UFC, brother. Now I am UFC, brother.
"Fight, fight, fight - I love this sh*t, bro," he continued. "Make money, and it makes me happy to do this for you guys."
The welterweight contender is lining up his next UFC outing ahead of potentially fighting for UFC gold next year.
