Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin, Usman, made quick work of his opponent on the UAE Warriors 12 card last night.

The undefeated UFC lightweight champion was in his relative's corner as he moved to 10-0 with an emphatic first round stoppage victory over Jerry Kvarnstrom.

In fact, the 23-year old spent just 40 seconds inside the cage after battering Kvarnstrom from the very first buzzer.

He came out of the traps with a series of brutal strikes, knees and kicks and got him on the canvas for the ground and pound before referee Marc Goddard brought a halt to proceedings.

With it being a verbal submission, it was a much easier stoppage for Goddard to call than one of the fights he officiated earlier on in the night after Ahmad Al Darmaki was disqualified for refusing to release a rear naked choke and then trying to start on the man in the middle.

Khabib already has two cousins competing in UFC in Abubakar and Umar Nurmagomedov and you'd expect Usman to be following suit in the near future.

After a lengthy hiatus in UFC, extended as he grieved the unfortunate loss of his father and trainer Abdulmanap, 'The Eagle' will be defending his title against interim champion Justin Gaethje on 24 October at UFC 254.

In what could well be his last fight, Khabib would move to 29-0 in MMA with a victory.
