Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled no punches towards fierce rival Conor McGregor as he revealed what his opponent screamed at him while being choked out.

The 31-year-old Russian star successfully defended the UFC lightweight championship against McGregor at UFC 229 in 2018.

Khabib managed to lock in a neck crank submission as he forced the Irish MMA superstar to succumb to defeat in Las Vegas.

Ahead of McGregor's stunning UFC return against Donald Cerrone in January, the 'Eagle' fired off a shot at his arch-rival by opening up about the moment he made him tap.

Khabib claims that McGregor "didn't want to be there" for the fight and pleaded that he stopped choking him out.

The Dagestan star explained: "Honestly, I don't think he wants that fight. How is that so? I beat him up for four rounds.

"I beat him and choked him and he tapped.

"It was a sign he didn't want to be there, 'Let me go, please,' and all that. And how he wants the rematch."

McGregor has been vocal about his desire to rematch Khabib and avenge his 2018 defeat to the undefeated lightweight champ.

UFC president Dana White has admitted that the 'Notorious' might not wait for his chance to face Khabib next.

"I don't know if Conor wants to wait for [Khabib]. We'll see what happens. Conor might not wait," he told TMZ.

"First of all, Conor McGregor does not handpick his opponents. Conor McGregor has fought anybody that we have asked him to fight and who has been available.

"I mean, guys have pulled out on Conor two or three times, Conor literally went to the gym and said, 'Tell me who I am fighting.'"

Khabib has staunchly argued that he never lost the third round to McGregor in their blockbuster showdown and claims he "smashed" him.
