Jorge Masvidal Conspiracy Theory Emerges Online As Fight With Kamaru Usman Agreed For UFC 251
Masvidal is set to replace Gilbert Burns in the UFC 251 main-event against Usman.
He was originally supposed to face the UFC welterweight champion before failing to strike a deal with Dana White.
However, terms are agreed for Usman vs. Masvidal to take place at UFC 251 on July 11.
And Masvidal's former foe Askren reckons 'Gamebred' will lose the bout, but says he'd have earned a big purse while claiming the promotion will set up a rematch if he loses.
"Masvidal will likely lose on short notice but probably got paid big and that's what was more important to him. If he loses they set up rematch with full length camp," he wrote on Twitter.

Usman vs. Masvidal is a done deal, according to ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani who claims the fight depends on the results of the COVID-19 tests.
"Negotiations for Usman vs. Masvidal are done, per sources," he said. "All sides agreed to terms. Usman is en route to LV; Masvidal landed earlier. Once at the hotel, they'll have to take a COVID test and then quarantine while awaiting results. If negative, they'll fly to AD likely tomorrow.
"Negotiations were obviously a huge hurdle but now that is clear. Now it depends on that COVID test, which is obviously a massive hurdle, too.
"Total crap shoot. If (hopefully not) they don't pass the COVID test the fight can't and won't happen."
