And ahead of stepping back into the famed Octagon, Jones has messaged his former foe.
On Instagram, the American wrote: "Looks like the battle continues."
The UFC star, who still holds the light-heavyweight title, was in talks to fight heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou before failing to strike a deal with Dana White.

But could Gustafsson's move to the heavyweight division spark Jones' jump to the weight?
'Bones' boasts two victories over Gustafsson at light-heavyweight. He defended his title in a 'Fight of the Year' battle at UFC 165 in September 2013, then stopped him at UFC 232 in December 2018.
Gustafsson has competed three times for the UFC light-heavyweight title and fallen short in all his championship attempts with Daniel Cormier inflicting the other defeat.
He hasn't fought since his stoppage defeat to Anthony Smith in June 2019.
'The Mauler' wants to be active after ending his short retirement.
