Jon Jones has named himself, Stipe Miocic and Anderson Silva as the three "mountain goats" of the UFC.

The whole 'GOAT' debate is a regular topic amongst the MMA community and Conor McGregor generated discussions aplenty with his controversial list back in May.

Jones responded to those claims from the Notorious fighter at the time and he's brought up the subject again on Twitter, where he was looking for an artist to produce a painting of him, Miocic and Silva.

'Bones' has always spoken glowingly of Silva and even named him as his No.1 fighter when picking his 'Mount Rushmore' of fighters.

Jones told The Schmo in 2019: "The GOAT to me would be Anderson Silva, but I am honoured that a lot of people consider me in that same conversation.

"Myself, Anderson Silva, Fedor Emelianenko and Demetrious Johnson."

Meanwhile heavyweight king Miocic could potentially be Jones' next opponent after he vacated the light heavyweight title in order to pursue a step up from 205 lbs.

The 33-year old had been at odds with UFC after feeling he was not being paid what he was worth but it's now looking likely that he will compete inside the Octagon once again.

He wants Miocic, fresh from his monumental win over Jones' long-time rival Daniel Cormier in their trilogy fight at UFC 252, but UFC president Dana White says knockout artist Francis Ngannou is next in line.

Speaking to ESPN on Tuesday, White said: "[Jon Jones is] the longtime light heavyweight champion. In my opinion, he's the greatest of all time, and if he wants to come back and take a shot at the heavyweight championship, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

"But he can't just jump in front of Ngannou right now."

Jones already has a new suitor, however, as middleweight champion Israel Adesanya says he is willing to face him at heavyweight.
