How Jorge Masvidal Responded When Kamaru Usman Said He's Not Deserving Of UFC Title Shot
Jorge Masvidal threatened to break Kamaru Usman's face when the UFC welterweight champion said he's not deserving of a title shot during a 2019 interview.
Usman dismissed Masvidal as a potential opponent after defending his title against Colby Covington at UFC 245 last December.
But the two welterweight stars will meet in a highly-anticipated clash at UFC 251 on 'Fight Island' this Saturday.
And Masvidal pulled no punches as he responded to Usman's damning assessment of the title picture.
"When I fight Usman, I'm going to break his face," the BMF champion said last December. "He can't hang with me, he's too one-dimensional, he's not skilled and he sure as hell ain't tough.

"I'll be able to get a lot done that I want to get accomplished, and that's it. Then I'm done." he added.
"That'll be 19 professional years in [MMA], even I have to graduate at some point."

Speaking after making UFC 251's new main-event, Dana White said: "If you look at the 20 year history [of the UFC], this kind of stuff happens.
"When you get into negotiations for fights, these things happen. Gilbert Burns has been on a tear and was consistently fighting and wanted to continue to fight and was the number one contender, so Gilbert Burns made sense."
He continued: "Obviously Masvidal has become a massive star over the last year and a half, and that's the fight that people want to see, so when Burns fell out, we got in a room and figured Masvidal out."
