A video showing Conor McGregor's cheating antics against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 has emerged.
No matter what actually happened in the Octagon before the McGregor and Khabib fight back on October 7th 2018, the event will be remembered just for that fight, and specifically what happened after, for quite some time.
The finish to the fight and the aftermath has led to all sorts of spin off narratives like the chances of Khabib fighting Floyd Mayweather, 50 Cent paying for the Russian to quit UFC and McGregor selling his whiskey, maybe slightly less dramatic.
McGregor ultimately tapped out to a neck crank submission after being grounded by the dominant UFC lightweight champion, but a video documents all of the instances of cheating the Irishman did beforehand.
Does it technically class as cheating if you get away with it? Although he really ought to have had some points deducted, McGregor didn't even pick up an official warning for everything he did wrong on the night and was generally able to get away with it.

Referee Herb Dean does shout 'don't grab the shorts' at one point but plenty of illegal strikes go relatively unnoticed as the Notorious tries to get away with as much as possible against the Dagestani fighter.
It was of course to absolutely no avail as McGregor ended up submitting during the fourth round to give Khabib his 27th victory in a row.
All that cheating can hardly have pleased Nurmagomedov and may well have added to his aggression at the end of the fight, when he showed exactly why they call him 'The Eagle' when he jumped over the Octagon onto members of McGregor's team - specifically Dillon Danis.
