UFC President Dana White Confirms Who's Next For Kamaru Usman Vs. Jorge Masvidal Winner

UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Gilbert Burns will fight the winner of Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal.

Burns was scheduled to face UFC welterweight champion Usman at UFC 251 before he tested positive for COVID-19.

He was forced out of the main-event with Masvidal taking his spot, but the Brazilian star will get the next shot at UFC gold.

White says Burns is the No.1 welterweight contender after defeating former UFC title holder Tyron Woodley in May.

"He's the No. 1 contender," the UFC boss said of Burns, who's riding an impressive six-fight winning streak.

"He's the No. 1 ranked guy in the world. Yeah - he's the No. 1 guy in the world. The kid is hungry. He wants to fight. He wants to be a world champion - and he's No. 1. Yeah, that puts him in a pretty good spot."

Burns reacted to the news with a simply message on social media. On Twitter, he wrote: "LET'S GO."

Usman vs. Masvidal is hours away from going down and Burns is backing 'The Nigerian Nightmare' to successfully defend his title.

"I see Kamaru dominating, that's what I see," he said. "I think a lot of people get a big expectation in this matchup, but it can only go two ways, or Masvidal can catch him and knock him out inside two rounds. But the way I see the fight going is Kamaru dominating.

"Even a boring fight, I'd say, Kamaru takes him down and smashes him on the cage. I don't want that as a fan, but I believe it's gonna be a boring fight, Kamaru controlling every aspect of the fight."
