But McGregor will hope to bounce back from his shock defeat in Abu Dhabi amid reports a third fight with UFC star Poirier could happen in the summer.
The 'Notorious' has now taken to social media and asked for the UFC to create 'The McGregor Belt.'
McGregor revealed in an initial tweet that he wanted the so-called McGregor Belt to feature "rose gold and rubies."
The UFC star tweeted: "I feel it's time to break out this baby for the next fight.
"I ask the UFC to please create The McGregor belt. I suggest rose gold and rubies. Think patek [sic] rare."
McGregor continued to express his thoughts on the belt's design in a follow-up tweet, saying "yellow gold and emeralds" could be a possibility.
The future UFC Hall of Famer tweeted: "Or yellow gold and emeralds possibly. Might be nice also.
"I'm open to design suggestions. Let's link up [UFC] #TheMcGregorBelt."
UFC president White has said that the American MMA fighter made a "smart" move in turning down a lightweight title shot to face McGregor instead.
"Dustin wants the rematch," he said.
"That's smart. That's what he should do. He should take the rematch, take that fight. It's a big fight for him.
"Kid's worked hard his whole life, his whole career to be in a position like this. That's the fight you take.
"We've been in positions like this before with others who have made the mistake of not taking that fight -- biggest mistake of their lives."
