Conor McGregor has shown off his incredible physique with his coach John Kavanagh dropping a huge hint over a potential UFC comeback.

McGregor, 31, suddenly retired from MMA when he posted an emotional farewell message on social media last month.

But speculation is rife that the Irishman is set to return to the Octagon after his coach left an interesting comment on his post on Instagram.

The former UFC double champion shared a picture of himself looking seriously jacked, accompanied with the caption: "Big poppa pump action."

Kavanagh reacted to McGregor's post, saying: "Skip 170 straight to 185?"

'The Notorious' last fought at welterweight when he stopped Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds at UFC 246. He's never competed at 185lbs (middleweight) in his professional career.

McGregor called time on his career after growing frustrated with the UFC - his third retirement in four years.

But before he hung up the gloves, a super-fight with lightweight standout Justin Gaethje was close to being done according to Kavanagh, who adds that the American's style is perfect for his star fighter.

"It was close to being done. It's kind of sad now that it didn't happen," he revealed.

"We have obviously the coronavirus and how everything went with the world. I think we could've been getting ready for that fight any week now if things hadn't happened the way they did. But here we are, so all we can do is speculate."

The SBG Ireland coach continued: "I think the Gaethje fight is probably the best fight I could imagine because he has the style that really matches well with Conor.

"Gaethje likes to march forward. He sits down on his shots, he throws heavy shots. He doesn't seem to care about being hit.

"And he likes coming forward. Conor's always done very well as a counter fighter. Although he does walk forward, he responds to people's attacks very well."
