But 'The Notorious' appeared to drop a huge hint on social media that an Octagon return could be on the cards.
He shared a picture, accompanied with the caption: "Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone yous know the drill, Stay Ready."
The former UFC double champion also looks in great shape as he continues to train despite being retired.
Dana White, who teased a blockbuster clash with Jorge Masvidal, commented on McGregor's future ahead of the UFC's second 'Fight Island' show in Abu Dhabi.

When asked if he had spoken to the MMA superstar, the UFC boss replied: "Nope, none. Happy birthday, Conor."
However, speaking ahead of UFC 251, White said that he "wouldn't be surprised" if McGregor came out of retirement.
"As of right now, he's retired. I wouldn't be surprised if he came out and wanted to fight somebody next year after all these different fights play out," he explained.

Before the Dublin man hung up the gloves, a super-fight with lightweight standout Justin Gaethje was close to being done according to John Kavanagh, who adds that the American's style is perfect for his star fighter.
"It was close to being done. It's kind of sad now that it didn't happen," he revealed.
"We have obviously the coronavirus and how everything went with the world. I think we could've been getting ready for that fight any week now if things hadn't happened the way they did. But here we are, so all we can do is speculate."
