BREAKING: Conor McGregor's Return Fight Against Donald Cerrone Set For UFC 246

Conor McGregor's return to UFC is set, with the Irishman poised to face Donald Cerrone in a welterweight at the UFC 246 event on January 18 in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White has revealed the news this evening, saying that McGregor has signed on the dotted line today after a lengthy hiatus from the Octagon following his damaging defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018.

McGregor was slated to make his comeback in July and face Justin Gaethje at Madison Square Garden until he needed surgery on his hand after breaking it during sparring.

'The Notorious' will be back in the fold at the start of 2020 though against 'Cowboy', who teased a fight months back.

The 36-year old holds the record for the most wins (23) and finishes (16) in the history of UFC but was beaten by Gaethje in his last fight in September.

Recently, a fan on Instagram claimed that McGregor will beat Cerrone when they face off and the UFC star replied with his address and an invite to talk face-to-face.

Cerrone said:

"Who the f**k are you to talk!! You feel like you have something to say?

"I live at 6 Kalma Lane, Edgewood, NM 87015.

"See just how low my head hangs."
