Dana White claimed he was 'happy for' WWE NXT superstar Matt Riddle, after sacking the 33-year-old six years ago, but Riddle has hit back, calling the UFC president a 'heartless moron.'

Riddle took part in The Ultimate Fighter Series 7, earning himself a professional contract with UFC, having a 12 fight career with the promotion.

After two of his wins were turned into 'no contest' results following two failed drugs tests in a year Riddle was fired. He went on to become a professional wrestler, signing for WWE last year. Earlier this month White was complimentary but in an Instagram post the number one contender for the NXT title hit back, saying, "Dana I'm not mad that you fired me I'm mad because you're a heartless moron with to much money and power and felt the need to call me a loser after you fired me when I was on a 4 fight win streak and had my 3rd child almost bankrupting me. Also to say it was the right call to fire me is the dumbest thing ever, you literally tried to ruin my career/life because your a little bald bitch that couldn't control me, so stop lying it's sad bro."

In the interview, with Barstool Sports, the UFC president had said that he felt the decision to sack Riddle was the correct one but the he was happy to see the success the former welterweight fighter had gone on to have in pro wrestling, saying, "I've heard interviews with Matt Riddle and he's very fired up about being let go and everything.

"At that place and time where we were, it was the right move. But I'm happy for him. I'm happy he's been successful and he's doing well. I don't wish the kid any ill will.

"I don't hate Matt Riddle or dislike Matt Riddle in any way. I know he feels the opposite, as he should. But I don't wish him any ill will or anything like that, but no, I don't regret the decision I made at that time."

Riddle will challenge Adam Cole for the NXT title in the near future after defeating Killian Dain on NXT's second live TV show on Wednesday and speaking exclusively to SPORTbible recently, at PROGRESS Wrestling's 'Still Chasing', the 'Original Bro' revealed he'd like to make the step to the main roster eventually but right now NXT is the place to be, saying, "I want to go to main roster but I want to do it when it's right. Right now, if NXT shines and we get an even bigger TV deal than that then NXT is still the place to be. It's NXT WWE, it's not like it's completely different."

Riddle also revealed it's unlikely he'd ever return to UFC, saying, "Unless the money's REALLY good, but right now the money is good here and I tay consistently busy. I like that. I feel like with UFC I'd only fight 2 or 3 times a year and there's big highs but there's also big lows. There's a lot more low," after his last rant maybe White wouldn't have him back.
