Stipe Miocic went back to his day job at a fire station in Ohio after regaining his UFC heavyweight title earlier this month.

The 37-year-old beat Daniel Cormier at UFC 241 in Anaheim to wrestle back the belt that 'DC' won from him last year.

And Ohio-native Miocic has no intention of giving up his other profession as a firefighter and paramedic in a suburb of Cleveland.

Valley View Fire Department posted a picture on Facebook of the champion scrubbing a toilet while wearing his title belt.

Miocic has worked at the fire station for the last decade and juggles his MMA training with his three shifts a week.

Some of his shifts as a fireman last 24 hours, and he trains five or six times a week - sometimes twice daily.

He continued his work at Valley View during the build-up to his fight with Cormier, but eventually took some time off to focus on that UFC main event bout.

In an interview with ESPN about his secondary profession, Miocic said: "I love what I do, man. I work real hard here, and I love especially helping out people. Why would I give it up? Plus, it keeps my mind off MMA."

Miocic could fight No 1 contender Francis Ngannou next or face a third fight against Cormier.

But the 40-year-old admitted he is considering retirement in a lengthy Instagram post to his 2.2 million followers.

He wrote: "It's been a couple of days and I can't stress the disappointment, I am so sorry to all I have let down.

"To my wife and kids I am so sorry you guys had to experience that, I never wanted y'all to see that and the hurt you guys showed breaks my heart every time I think about it.

"My coaches I am sorry, i appreciate the work and time you've spent with me. My fans, thank you guys for all the love and support you have guided me to all these amazing accomplishments.

"Stipe Miocic and his team, congratulations on a tremendous victory, you showed so much heart and grit, you are the definition of Cleveland tough.

"Dana White and all at the UFC thank you all for everything you have done for me and my family.

"This has been the most amazing journey, I will decide what I am gonna do now, and as soon as I decide you will all know right away. I love you all."
