It has emerged that the UFC are in deep discussions to complete the first ever MMA trade deal involving ONE Championship.
The news comes just days after Ben Askren, who is the current ONE welterweight champion, revealed there was a "98%" chance of him joining the UFC.
Multiple sources claim that former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be released from his current contract in order to join ONE, with both parties hopeful the deal will be finialized soon, according to ESPN.

A trade deal has never been done before in MMA, so if the Johnson-Askren deal goes through successfully, it will certainly make history in the sport.
Both fighters currently have fights on their respected contracts.
