Georges St-Pierre's Former Trainer Thinks Conor McGregor Would Have 'Difficult Time' With Jorge Masvidal

Georges St-Pierre's Former Trainer Thinks Conor McGregor Would Have 'Difficult Time' With Jorge Masvidal

Georges St-Pierre's former trainer Firas Zahabi has said that he thinks Conor McGregor would have a 'tremendously difficult time' with Jorge Masvidal.

McGregor & Masvidal have gone back and forth on Twitter over the last week and Masvidal has pushed for a match between the two.

Tristar Gym Coach Zahabi has had his say on how he thinks a fight between 'The Notorious' and 'Gamebred' would go.

Speaking on Tristar's YouTube channel, St-Pierre's former trainer said he thinks the fight would go in current BMF Champion Masvidal's favour.

"I think (Masvidal) beats McGregor.

"I think McGregor is a great fighter, I just think Masvidal is too big. He's a great puncher and has a great chin. If he takes McGregor past the two rounds, it's going to be the Masvidal show.

He did praise McGregor though, stating the 31-year-old is the best puncher in the UFC.

"I honestly would tell you that probably McGregor is the best puncher in the UFC.

"If I had to choose one guy off the top of my head, I would pick McGregor right now. However, there are guys out there who are very dangerous punchers, and I would say Jorge is among the elite."

"I'm not saying McGregor has no chance of winning, but he'd have to win early and he'd have to connect with the left.

"And, everybody kind of knows now what McGregor does.

"I think Masvidal's gonna have a really good game plan, come really prepared, and he's a lot bigger.

"If McGregor had a hard time with Nate, he's going to have a tremendously difficult time with Masvidal."

Masvidal has been on fire in 2019 and defeated Nate Diaz at UFC 244 to become the inaugural BMF Champion.

He knocked Diaz out in the third round and was presented the title by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson'.

McGregor on the other hand recently announced that he will be making a return to the UFC in January.

The former lightweight champion announced his return during a press conference in Russia last month.

'Cowboy' Donald Cerrone is rumoured to be McGregor's first opponent when he makes his return in Las Vegas.

But it seems that many fans are already excited to see him go face to face with Masvidal.

Do you think McGregor and Masvidal will have a match in the near future?
