Tony Ferguson has finally had his say on Conor McGregor's remarkable Twitter outburst this week - with 'The Notorious' firing straight back.

McGregor laid into Ferguson on Monday as well as other lightweight rivals Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje.

Ferguson had stayed quiet on the messages from McGregor, who had said 'El Cucuy' was 'embarrassing' in his preparation leading up UFC 249.

The American decided to let rip on Wednesday and he hasn't held back.

He stated: "@TheNotoriousMMA You're Still My Bitch. You Never Represented Me According To Audie,.. If So Then You Worked For Me, & Withheld Money From Me. Focus On Putting The Bottle Down Kid. @BallengeeGroup Is Gold Standard, Must Be Hard Watching From The Sidelines. Keep It Up Chump -Champ."

Ferguson sustained over 100 blows to the head during Saturday's main event loss against Gaethje and he was taken to hospital following the bout.

Within hours, McGregor had replied to the message with: "Shut up and thank the nurses and doctors that plated back up your skull and stitched all those gashes up. It's international nurses day! And learn how to box! Fumbling over your feet like a f**king Buffoon. We'd be embarrassed to represent that at Paradigm Sports. GPizzle."

McGregor earlier in the evening also tweeted: "Super excited for the LW (lightweight) Title bout in July!"

The Irishman has made it no secret that he wants to fight soon and the man in his sights seems to be Gaethje.

Despite McGregor's call-out, UFC president Dana White is preparing for Khabib vs Gaethje on Fight Island this summer.

"I don't know if it will be the first one, but it will be on Fight Island, unless miraculously the world comes back together faster than I think it's gonna," White told ESPN 1000 Chicago.

Who do you think Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor will face next in the octagon?
