Dana White has warned Conor McGregor to not pursue a fight with current BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal.
McGregor will return to the UFC on January 18 to face Donald Cerrone but he already has his eyes set on Masivdal.
The duo have exchanged heated words on social media over the last few months, but White has said he thinks it'd be a 'bad idea' for McGregor to take the match.
"Conor has this idea, too, that if things don't go his way and he [doesn't] get the fight [with Khabib], he'll have had a 170 fight in his pocket again and [is] considering a [Jorge] Masvidal fight," White told MMA Fighting.
"I think everybody knows what I think about it. I think it's a bad idea.
"Conor gets p***ed off when I say it's a bad idea, and he's like, "You think I can't beat Masvidal?"
"I'm not saying you can't beat Masvidal. Anybody can beat anybody on any given day, but why? Why go after that fight when you could possibly just wait?"
Masvidal has had a great 2019 with victories over stars such as Darren Till, Ben Askren and Nate Diaz.

He currently holds the BMF title and although White has no intention of making him defend it, a big title match with McGregor could be tempting.
'Conor wants that belt from Masvidal. I did it as a one off and like I said, it was fun. It was awesome. We'll see what happens.
"You've got to love the fact that a guy is willing to fight anybody. Believe me, I've said this a million times, I'll say it again, I've been in the trenches and when we're standing in the living room and fights pull out, Conor McGregor will fight anybody."
The 31-year-old is also keen for a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor's last fight ended in defeat to the Russian back in October 2018 and he's keen to avenge the loss.
But he'll have to put a string of good results together if he wants to face the Lightweight Champion.
Do you think McGregor will defeat Cerrone?
