Conor McGregor has claimed Khabib Nurmagomedov is 'trembling' over a potential rematch with the Irishman in the future.

McGregor is two weeks away from his return to the octagon at UFC 246, where he will take on Donald Cerrone.

However, he's taken time out of his training to speak with The Mac Life about a variety of topic, including a potential rematch with Khabib.

The 31-year-old didn't hold back, claiming:

"He is trembling. That man is trembling.

"He doesn't want it. He doesn't want it. You get it and he's trying not to lose it again. I just smell sh*t. That's all it is. He's afraid and that's it.

"But everyone wants it. The boss wants it, Dana [White] wants it, we all want it. So he can run but he cannot hide. I look forward to it."

Khabib defeated McGregor back at UFC 229 in October 2018 to retain his lightweight championship.

The Russian won via fourth round submission but McGregor disputes the common consensus that he was dominated in the bout.

"In my mind, round 1, I won round 1. I outstruck him 3-to-1," McGregor said.

"He had position on the mat but I outstruck him 3-to-1. What did he do in that first round? Second round, look at the lackadaisical approach I had, he was just running around the outside of the cage and he caught that lucky shot and he had a great second round.

"What happened after that? I win the third round."

'The Notorious' also opened up about his training camp leading up to the fight, which he brands as 'horrendous'.

"That last camp was horrendous and I have no one to blame but myself and I did blame myself and made the corrections.

"Thankfully I have a strong team behind me that are pushing me and guiding me the right way and I'm guiding myself that's the main thing.

"Fighting is always close to my mind now, and I know I've got many businesses that are thriving at the minute but fighting is my bread and butter and that is what I'm focusing on."

Despite all the talk about a rematch with 'The Eagle', he likely has a long road to seal that rematch.
