Floyd Mayweather is insisting a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov must happen on his terms, ruling out a bout inside the UFC and Conor McGregor has now responded.

Whilst Mayweather is set to appear in Japan on New Years Eve for a exhibition bout, a match-up versus Nurmagomedov continues to do the rounds.

However, the 41-year-old has effectively ruled out stepping inside the famed Octagon.

"They came to me talking about the Khabib fight," Mayweather said.

"Khabib called me out, I didn't call Khabib out. They said it has to happen in the octagon and I said.

"You just tell me where Khabib has made nine figures before in the octagon. If he hasn't made nine figures, he's not the A side. I'm the A side, so if you guys want the fight to happen, you must come my way. My way, my rules," he added.

Mayweather's former foe, McGregor, has now responded. Well, that's what it seems like.

"You little f*cking daisy," the ex-UFC double champ posted on Twitter.

Dana White is not on board with Mayweather's idea either.

"The answer is 'no.'," the UFC President told TMZ in response to Mayweather's proposal to box Nurmagomedov.

Before referencing McGregor's venture to the boxing world.

"He's gonna have to come here and get his ass whoopin'. We did that last time. You gotta come here this time.

"Every time he wants to box. You wanna fight? Want to make 150 million? Come over here and get your ass whooped."

Mayweather will be in action before the years out in the shape of a exhibition against Tenshin Nasukawa.

The rule set has yet to be ironed out but we do know that's it's going to be a 'little boxing exhibition' for '9 minutes'. That's according to the man himself.

"It's a no-brainer. Just because I'm retired from boxing. I still make appearances worldwide and make a ton of money," he said about his on-off-then-on-again Japanese outing.

Will Mayweather fight Nurmagomedov in 2019...? Don't hold your breathe.
