Jorge Masvidal has fired back at Conor McGregor and called him 'salty' after McGregor's comment on Sunday.

McGregor tweeted after Masvidal called the 31-year-old a 'f**king midget' following his victory over Nate Diaz at UFC 244 on Saturday night.

The tweet is in reference to Masvidal's backstage fight with Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night in London.

He explained it by stating, "So I had to give him the three-piece with the soda and then just glide out of there, you know?"

Masividal has now responded to McGregor's tweet, stating McGregor is a 'salty ass dude' and there is time for trash talking after signing a fight contract.

Speaking on the Helwani Show on Monday, the 34-year-old stated per lowkickmma.com:

"I'm guessing because he's a salty a** dude, that's how he gets salty by asking for salt and vinegar at the drive thru because I never ask for salt and vinegar.

"French fries usually come pretty seasoned. That dude wanted to make a point that he asked for salt. That's probably why his levels of saltiness are so f*cking through the roof.

"Call Dana, tell your assistant's assistant to call Dana White and throw some numbers at our way.

"If you want to get your a** kicked in April, just stop talking bro. We're going to scrap, we're going to scrap. Just sign the contract, then we can do all the sh*t talking."

Helwani insinuated that McGregor used chicken to maybe imply the American star was scared to fight him.

That only brought a laugh from the inaugural BMF Champion.

"You guys are so funny.

"Yeah, I don't want to fight that guy, bro. So scary. No, please, no. Not a chance. Get the f*ck out of my face. You kidding me with these questions?

McGregor is set to return to the Octagon on January 18 for his first fight in over a year.

It's believed that his first fight back is set to be against 'Cowboy' Donald Cerrone.

But you have to think that this back and forth between McGregor and Masvidal could lead to a fight further down the road.

Do you think that McGregor and Masvidal will eventually face off?
