UFC star Jon Jones has finally admitted to hiding from the commission to avoid a drug test because he was afraid of testing positive for marijuana.

Jones engaged in another intense Twitter war with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya last night.

And 'Bones' seemed to confirm one of the most infamous stories about his professional career.

It's claimed he hid under the cage when drug testers visited his training base at Jackson Wink MMA gym in New Mexico ahead of his fight against Daniel Cormier in 2015.

Adesanya brought up the tale on social media, saying: "Well you sleep under the cage so... Get in your tighty nighty and go to underneath the cage like the ugly putrid troll you are."

In another tweet, he added: "Fun Facts! I napped under the cage in 2010 cuz I didn't wanna waste gas going home so I stayed at the gym till evening training. jonathan stayed under the cage to hide from USADA during a random drug test. This is facts. Y'all must have forgot."

Jones swiftly replied, revealing: "Brother explain your titty. I was hiding from Nevada state Athletic Commission, not USADA and that was years ago.. I had just smoked a blunt and was afraid I would fail my test for weed. that's the actual truth. Now everyone knows everyone."

A super-fight between Jones and Adesanya has been mooted with Dana White very interested in booking the bout.

When asked about their social media beef and them potentially clashing inside the Octagon, the UFC president replied: "That's the fight to make, 100 percent.

"I think that a fight between those two is massive."

He added: "It doesn't depend on what I want; it depends on what they want to do.

"Adesanya is a champ. He's really coming into his own, and you can tell he knows this is his house, and he comes and acts like it.

"I think he wants the winner of Whittaker and Cannonier, and then we'll see what happens after that."

Adesanya most recently fought at UFC 253 last month. He easily defended his UFC middleweight title against Paulo Costa.

Jones, on the other hand, hasn't fought since February when he beat Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.

He has since vacated his UFC light-heavyweight title and announced his move to the heavyweight division.
