Jorge Masvidal has offered to help personally put out some of the fires that have devastated Australia.

Bush fires have destroyed people's lives and homes and killed millions of animals in states across Australia.

With the country in crisis, UFC champion Masvidal has offered his help to those in need.

The 35-year-old American tweeted about the sad scenes in Australia and said he would be in the country next month.

He wrote: "I'll be in Australia in February and would like to help. Proceeds from my visit will go to help but I also want to physically help put out the fires."

Masvidal also shared a frightening image of the deadly fires with the caption "this is scary".

At least 24 people have died since the fires started in September and almost 200 fires are still raging across the nation.

New South Wales is the worst affected and more than 1,200 homes have been destroyed while others have been left without power.

Masvidal is currently waiting for his next opponent having beaten Nate Diaz for the 'BMF' title in November.

The 35-year-old could face the winner of Conor McGregor's bout against Donald Cerrone later this month.
