A brutal knee shot at LFA 84 caused an abrupt disqualification of Shawn West in his fight against Boston Salmon. The Legacy Fighting Alliance bout ended early into the second round after the devastating knee shot.

In MMA there aren't too many things you can do that result in a disqualification. However, knee shots are.

It was seen at LFA 84, why a knee shot is illegal after a brutal knee shot was landed by West onto Salmon early into the second round of their bout.

The former UFC competitor met up with West at LFA 84 in South Dakota in a 150-pound catchweight bout, and it was an entertaining scrap while it lasted.

Early in the second, though, things took a turn. West dropped Salmon with a right hand. He then sprinted full force at the still downed Salmon and drilled him in the head with one of the most blatantly illegal knees to the head you'll ever see.

Fans were shocked by the brutal shot, but others believed it shouldn't have resulted in a DQ for West.

That goes into the books as a win at 53 seconds of the second round for Salmon, who snaps a two-fight losing streak.
