Kamaru Usman isn't getting ahead of himself before Saturday night's title defence against Jorge Masvidal but he's also eyeing a super fight for a future title defence.

The welterweight champion puts his title on the line against Masvidal at UFC 251, on Fight Island, this weekend after his original opponent Gilbert Burns tested positive for Covid-19 and was pulled from the event.

UFC president Dana White has said that Burns will be next in line for a title fight, that he earned by defeating former champion Tyron Woodley in May, but Usman has his eyes on a super fight.

"The next after Masvidal ... I don't know, that's up to the promotion," the Nigerian Nightmare said to Insider after Friday's weigh-ins.

"Whoever they throw at me, is who I'm going to take on. I don't like picking and choosing.

"Of course ... I would love Georges St. Pierre."

GSP, considered by many to be the all time greatest UFC fighter, defended the welterweight title nine times and held the belt for 2,204 days between April 2008 and December 2013 before vacating the belt.

After a four year hiatus from MMA, the Canadian returned to action in November 2017 to defeat Michael Bisping for the middleweight title.

He retired straight after beating the English fighter, leaving another title vacant. He has previously talked about being interested in a super fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov but claimed the UFC didn't want him fighting for another title, saying, "They didn't want to take the risk of me winning the title and then vacating again."

The Fight Island card has become much bigger with Masvidal replacing Burns with just six days notice, with White claiming it was the biggest trending bigger than any fight other than Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov

Someone asked if McGregor vs Masvidal was then the biggest fight he could make, with White saying, "Yeah, it could be."

Should Masvidal win that would be a huge fight but the UFC president has said that the winner will face Burns in their next fight, whilst Ben Askren has predicted Gamebred will get a rematch should he lose a close fight on Fight Island.
