British MMA Fighter Jack Mason Suffers Horrific Cut After First Round Stoppage

The fight took place at Cage Warriors 93 and at least Mason found a funny side to it.

Cage Warriors' fighter Jack Mason suffered one of the worst cuts above his eye you're likely to see after a brutal assault from the opening bell in his fight on Saturday night against Hakon Foss.

There's plenty of people out there with cool stories about how they picked up the scars they've got, personally the only visible scar is on my face and I got that from running for sweets, slipping and face planting the corner of a table aged four, not exactly badass!

British MMA fighter Jack Mason is likely to have a far more prominent scar than the one that adorns my face after his fight with Norway's Hakon Foss on Saturday night at Cage Warriors 93.

The welterweight took on Foss but it wasn't exactly a long fight. The Norwegian, coming off of two losses, exploded out of the gates and with three minutes left of the first round hit Mason flush with a flying knee to the head and followed it with more knee strikes and left and right combination punches:

After the fight John Maguire took to Twitter with a video of the aftermath of Mason's head and it's not pretty:

'The Stone,' as he's known, did at least manage to have a chuckle about the situation, taking to Twitter to say that he needed to learn some knee defence:

After the fight Foss, who was born in Sweden, said, "No risk, no reward. I wasn't the best my last two fights... but now I am ... Back!" There certainly was risk for Mason and his head.

Whatever happens going forward there's no way Mason will be able to forget April 28th and Hakon Foss in a hurry, a quick look in the mirror will remind him even if he does.

I hope it was worth it Jack, the sweets certainly weren't!
