TheODDSBible's 26/1 Boxing Treble

TheODDSBible's 26/1 Boxing Treble

Our pick for the weekend's boxing looks a real gem!

In an otherwise quiet weekend for sport, there's quite a bit of boxing taking place and we've decided to put together a 26/1 treble to go with it.

1. Deontay Wilder to win between rounds five and eight:

WBC heavyweight king, Deontay Wilder, defends his title against massive underdog Chris Arreola in Alabama this weekend and although we're expecting Arreola to bring his usual determination and grit to the ring, we think the champion will have too much for the challenger in this one.

This is third time lucky for Chris Arreola in his bid to become the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion. The 35 year-old previously made unsuccessful attempts at the title against Vitali Klitschko in 2009 and against Wilder victim Bermane Stiverne in 2014 (He also lost to Stiverne a year prior as well).

Deontay Wilder is 36-0 with 35 knockouts and will arrive with a four-inch edge in height and a seven-inch advantage in reach, whilst Arreola's pressure fighter style will likely suit the heavy-hitting champion down to a tee.

Arreola doesn't lack heart and won't make it easy for Wilder but we're expecting the belt-holder to catch him midway and the 12/5 on offer for Wilder to finish this between rounds five and eight is tremendous value.

2. Terry Flanagan to win between rounds five and eight:

At 42 years-old, Mzonke Fana is long past his best and Terry 'Turbo' Flanagan should make short work of the South African on Saturday night.

WBO lightweight world-title holder Flanagan has looked exceptional in his last two title defences and while we wait for an all-Manchester title showdown between himself and fellow lightweight world champion Anthony Crolla, we're likely to see an easy night's work for the 27 year-old in Cardiff.

As his nickname would suggest, Flanagan is a relentless fighter and a combination of superior speed, height and skill should see the Mancunian end this one somewhere between rounds five and eight.

3. Guillermo Rigondeaux to win between rounds seven and twelve:

Cuban wizard Guillermo Rigondeaux makes his long awaited arrival on British soil this weekend as he defends his WBA super-bantamweight title against Liverpool's James 'Jazza' Dickens.

Rigondeaux is criminally underrated by the majority of the boxing world but hardcore fans of the sport recognise the 35 year-old as one of the greatest amateur fighters of all time and a serious pound-for-pound contender.

British super-bantamweight title holder Jazza Dickens, who unsurprisingly goes in to this fight as a huge underdog, is an exceptional operator at British level but you have to feel that is well below the level required to topple the phenomenal Rigondeaux.

The Cuban isn't a concussive puncher and we don't expect him to finish the fight early but we would back him to wear down his Liverpudlian challenger and finish him off in the later rounds. A Rigondeaux win between rounds seven and twelve is an exceptional price at 5/8.
