A Premier League club has been instilled as new favourites to sign Liverpool flop Christian Benteke, just a year after the Reds paid £32.5 million for his services.
Having already spent £13m on Andros Townsend from Newcastle and secured the signature of Steve Mandanda from Marseille, Crystal Palace are now 30/100 to make bring Benteke to Selhurst Park; with Alan Pardew said to be a big fan of the striker.
The Belgian forward scored 9 goals in 29 games but struggled with injuries all season as well as finding it difficult to adjust to Jurgen Klopp's high pressing, quick passing system.

According to opta stats, Benteke missed nine 'big chances' in the league last season, three more than any other Liverpool player.
Palace have just offloaded Dwight Gayle and struggled for goals last season, so it's no wonder they're in the market for a striker - especially one of Benteke's nature. Palace made the 2nd most crosses in the league last season (689) but only scored the 13th most headers (7), one of Benteke's strong points.
If the move does come off, we reckon it could be good for both Palace and Benteke, the two seem to go hand in hand.
