ODDSbible Racing: Tips For Day Three At York's Ebor Meeting

Yesterday was a tough betting day on the Knavesmire but we go again on Friday in the hunt for more winners ok day three of the Ebor Meeting.

Here are Danny Archer's race-by-race selections...

I'll be placing my bets with Ladbrokes today to take advantage of their Best Odds Guaranteed Plus concession, which means I'll get a price boost if I take an early price about my selection and the SP is bigger. They will also double winnings in both the 1.55 & 3.35 races if your selection wins by 3 lengths or more. Full terms here.

1:55: York: Game Starter and Erik The Red Each Way
Saeed Bin Suroor's Game Starter landed a maiden by half-a-length in June over a mile before following up over 10 furlongs earlier this month with a facile four and a half-length victory. He beat some pretty handicappers on that occasion and whilst he has to manage a 10lb rise in the weights in today's event, he is evidently a horse who is on the upgrade and a further step up in trip might usher in further improvement.
I think there's more to come from Erik The Red who roared back to form with a comfortable length and a half success at Doncaster last time. He has run well at this track before and this trip should hold no problems for one that should be suited by a decent pace here.

2:25: York: Dartmouth.
Sir Michael Stoute's charge was pretty disappointing when only fourth in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot last time. He travelled into contention nicely that day but found little in the closing stages fading pretty tamely. However, he was previously a tenacious winner of the Yorkshire Cup here in May in which he stayed on resolutely in the stands' side rail late on to claim victory. That run provides hope that he should stay this trip and he brings proven Group class winning form to the table.

3:00: York: Daban and Mix And Mingle Each Way - Ladbrokes paying 4 places
Daban was a very exciting juvenile who landed the spoils in both her starts as a two-year-old and returned this season with a fine third to Winter in the 1000 Guineas. That is by far the best form on offer in this event and she also ran with credit when sixth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last time. Seven furlongs looks her trip and three-year-old fillies have won the last two renewals of this event.
Mix And Mingle has proven a real stable star for Chris Wall with two impressive victories at Newmarket and Lingfield this year. She beat Qemah on that occasion but was well beaten behind the same rival at Ascot in the Duke Of Cambridge. The mile trip might just have found her out last time and she should be more at home here.

3:35: York: Lady Aurelia NAP and Marsha Each Way.
An absolute humdinger of a renewal of the Nunthorpe Stakes and Wesley Ward's Lady Aurelia bids to follow up her stunning success in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. Winners of five furlong events simply do not do what she did to her rivals at the Berkshire venue where she simply blitzed the field from the front to score by three lengths. That was one of the most remarkable sprinting performances I have ever seen and I expect her to follow up that victory with another success over five furlongs here. I expect her to get an easy lead and I think she'll be tough to catch from the front.
Marsha is also worth a small each way play for Sir Mark Prescott. She was third to Lady Aurelia in the King's Stand before finishing an ultimately disappointing third at the Curragh in a Group Two event before a third placed effort in the King George Stakes at Goodwood. Her form is rock solid and that entitles her to play a part in the finish here.

4:15: Goodwood: Gabr and Laugh A Minute Each Way.
This looks a very tough maiden but Gabr stayed on nicely to finish a neck second at Newmarket last time having broken very poorly. That was a really fine run to make up a fair amount of ground and if being more assertive from the stalls, he should go well.
Laugh A Minute has been placed in both career starts and was second last time to the winner of the Acomb last time out. That form has evidently been given a major boost and he is of strong interest for an each way play.

4:50: York: Mojito and City Of Joy. - Ladbrokes paying 4 places
William Haggas' Mojito is seeking a third win in as many starts following two comfortable victories this season. That included a decisive two and a quarter length victory at Newmarket last time and whilst he must handle a further 7lb rise in the weights, he has further improvement in him.
City Of Joy did the business nicely at Doncaster and Chelmsford City earlier this year but has just struggled on his last two starts which included a slow start from the stalls at Newmarket last time. He is better than that and can show that here.
