ODDSbible Racing: Glorious Goodwood Day Two Betting Preview

It was a day full of shocks yesterday.

Day 2 of the Qatar Goodwood Festival and after some shock results yesterday, we're hoping to get back on track at the Sussex venue.

Here are Danny Archer's selections...

1:50: Goodwood: Taws 10/1 Each Way and Aurora Gray 9/1 Each Way.

Taws has been campaigned over hurdles recently but was previously a smart contender on the flat, which included a second in this event in 2015. She has plenty to find on ratings but a mark of 77 might underestimate at a track and in a race where she has excelled before.

Aurora Gray has excelled for the step up to longer distances this term and having finished a narrow second to a talented rival at Newbury last time, a mark of 82 remains fair.

2:25: Goodwood: On To Victory 5/1 Each Way (1/4) and Winston C 25/1 Each Way.

On To Victory has kept on improving this year and was seen to good effect on soft ground this term. Third at Newbury last time, that was a creditable effort and there looks to be more improvement from this unexposed son of Rock Of Gibraltar.

Winston C won at Wolverhampton on his handicap debut and the son of Rip Van Winkle benefits from David Egan'd claim. He enjoyed the step up that day and he is thoroughly unexposed.

3:00: Goodwood: Happy Like A Fool 4/1 and To Wafij 10/1 Each Way.

Happy Like A Fool could not match the finishing kick of the winner in the Queen Mary last time and whilst the forecast rain is an unknown, that Royal Ascot form looks pretty strong. This track could also suit as well.

To Wafij has ground to make up on another of today's rivals Havana Grey as he finished third to Karl Burke's charge last time at Sandown but he made up plenty of ground late on and he looks worth chancing here.

3:35: Goodwood: Ribchester 11/10 NAP.

Richard Fahey's charge looks rock solid on the form of his last two victories in the Lockinge and Queen Anne. In the latter event, he showed plenty of guts to match his speed to land the spoils and he should handle this tighter track. The softer ground is not a worry given he won the Lockinge and Jersey Stakes on soft ground and he looks a tough nut to crack here.

4:10: Goodwood: Lady Dancealot 11/1 Each Way and Pulitzer 16/1 Each Way.

Lady Dancealot was a fine third at Newbury on debut as she made up plenty of ground late on. There looks to be more to come from her.

Pulitzer was well punted ahead of his debut at Newmarket but never landed a blow having pulled too hard. If he isn't as keen today, he should go well.

4:45: Goodwood: Ebbesbourne 11/2 and Skiffle 13/2 Each Way (1/4).

Ebbesbourne won at York before finishing a staying on second last time and representing a trainer who is a dab hand with fillies, she is of strong interest.

Skiffle is a course and distance winner and whilst she has been disappointing on the whole recently, this trip should suit her more.

5:50: Goodwood: Sinfonietta 11/2 Each Way (1/4) and Cenotaph 16/1 Each Way.

Sinfonietta represents a trainer in fine form and he ran pretty well at Ascot last time. The wide draw is a slight issue but he is of interest.

Cenotaph is a fascinating contender for Aidan O'Brien. He has handled cut in the ground and whilst he has to improve on his fourth placed finish last time, he is entitled to improve.
