SkyBet Punter Wins A Massive £1k From A Free Bet

One lucky SkyBet punter won a massive £1,000 from just a £5 free bet last night after backing Christian Eriksen to score a hat-trick against the Republic of Ireland. The Dane capped off a wonderful performance with three terrific finishes sending this punter home very happy.

The Spurs midfielder has been in terrific form all season but he was helped by some village defending from his Irish counterparts and he made them pay the price for their lacklustre display.

That hat-trick helped Denmark to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the expense of the Republic of Ireland who joined Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales in failing to join England in Russia next summer. It was an even more painful night for the Irish after Shane Duffy had actually given them the lead after just six minutes in Dublin.

Gareth Southgate's England side battled to their second 0-0 draw of the international break as they held off the Samba Stars of Brazil at Wembley with a number of players all but confirming their place on the plane next summer.

Joe Hart put in a fine display in goal to keep the attacking trio of Coutinho, Neymar and Gabriel Jesus at bay for the full 90 minutes. It was an especially good performance considering the pressure he was under after Jordan Pickford's faultless display in keeping a clean sheet against the Germans on Friday night.

Hart may not be head and shoulders above his younger teammate but we still fancy him to kick-off proceedings in goal next summer. However the bookies can't call it with Butland (11/8), Hart (6/4) and Pickford (11/4) all similar prices to start England's first World Cup group game.

Anyway, at least the international break is finally over and you'll be pleased to hear that there won't be another one until March...
