La Liga Keeper Set For Premier League Switch
Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak is pushing for a move away from the Spanish capital, according to Marca.
It is being reported that the Atletico shot-stopper wants to leave in January after the club are refusing to offer him an extension to his contract which runs out in 2021.
Oblak signed a contract extension in 2016, however, it is believed he wants improved terms after several of his team mates, including Antoine Griezmann, Saul and Koke, got offered big deals to keep them at the club.
Oblak is considered to be one of the best keepers in the world and has been a key player for Atletico since signing from Benfica four years ago.
The 25-year-old has won the Europa League, the Supercopa de Espana and the UEFA Super Cup during his four-year spell at Atletico, while he has also won an array of personal accolades, including three consecutive inclusions in the UEFA La Liga Team of the Season.
The Slovenian has also won the Zamora trophy, an award given to the keeper with the lowest goals-to-game ratio at the end of La Liga season, three-times and has only conceded 16 goals in 17 games this season, picking up seven clean sheets.
The goalie is 8/1 to make a move to any Premier League side this January, while a move to the Prem next summer is a lot shorter at 5/2.
Meanwhile, Manchester United keeper David de Gea is also reportedly wanting to leave the English giants, therefore, Old Trafford could be a possible destination for Oblak.
De Gea is understood to be stalling on signing a new United contract with his current one due to expire at the end of this season.
The Spanish international was once a target of Real Madrid and only a dodgy fax machine stopped a deadline day move to Los Blancos back in 2015, however, they have since signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.
Italian giants Juventus are now the frontrunners for his signature at 9/2, while PSG follow close behind at 5/1.
