England full-back Kieran Trippier and two-time World Darts Champion Michael Van Gerwen have placed a bet on the outcome of England vs Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League semi-final next summer.
The Dutchman, who is 13/8 favourite to win his third PDC World Championship title, was hit by a drink on his way to oche at Alexandra Palace, but eventually seen off Alan Tabern 3-1 to go through to the third round.
Tripper was in attendance with fellow England and Tottenham teammate Danny Rose after their side salvaged a late Premier League win over Burnley at Wembley.

The pair caught up with the World Number One after his victory and Trippier challenged the 29-year-old to a bet. Trippier chanced his arm and offered Van Gerwen dinner at fancy Mayfair restaurant, Novikov.
Meanwhile, England are joint favourites with Portugal at 2/1 to win the inaugural Nations League tournament. And, according to the bookies, Van Gerwen is most likely to be picking up the bill at the London restaurant as England are 5/4 to win the semi-final against the rejuvenated Dutch side, who are 11/5 to progress to the final.
