Czech Republic v Turkey: Betting Preview

Czech Republic v Turkey: Betting Preview

We preview what is essentially a 3rd placed play-off between Czech Republic and Turkey tonight.

Group D comes to a close in Lens as the Czech Republic and Turkey go to war with 3rd place a minimum reward for the victor.

A win for the Czech Republic and a defeat for Croatia in the other Group D game though would see both sides finish on 4 points and the battle for 2nd come down to goal difference - where a 3-goal swing from the current standings would see Czechia finish second. This would see Turkey eliminated at the bottom of the group with 0 points.

After two defeats in two games, Turkey somehow still have a glimmer of hope. A win against the Czech Republic in Lens would see them finish 3rd, but they'd need a huge swing in goals (in my opinion) if they were to stand any chance of qualifying as one of the four top ranked 3rd placed sides.

A draw in the game would be disastrous for both though, as it would see the two nations eliminated from the competition without a victory.

Since neither side can afford not to win, I expect them both to really go for it - that's why I'm backing Both Teams to Score at 20/23. I'd also be more than happy to wager that this game will be feisty, and I like the evens on offer for Over 4.5 cards.
