Nick Kyrgios' loss in the Laver Cup last weekend to Roger Federer had nothing to do with the 20 time Grand Slam winner being the greatest of all time but because of a 'hot chick' in the audience.

Whenever the Australian plays tennis he's not too far away from the sublime or the ridiculous and the Laver Cup was no different.

Kyrgios last to Federer 6-7, 7-5, 10-7, but during the match managed to tell his watching 'Team World' teammates that he'd lost concentration thanks to a 'hot chick' in the crowd.

'Team World' coach John McEnroe warned his player not to marry the girl 'until you've seen her in her underwear,' which might be decent advice but maybe the American should have been telling his charge how to beat Federer.

The loss was Kyrgios' first appearance in this year's tournament and put Europe 5-3 up as they attempted to keep the trophy for the third year in-a-row.

Later on Saturday the 24-year-old partnered with American Jack Sock to beat the team of Rafael Nadal, Kyrgios fierce rival, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Aussie was supposed to play on Sunday, against either Nadal or Dominic Thiem, put pulled out because of a shoulder injury.

In his place Taylor Fritz beat Tsitsipas but it wasn't enough to stop Team Europe winning the tournament 13-11.

The coverage of the behind the scenes footage from the Laver Cup was brilliant with Roger Federer being seen giving a sweary pep talk to Alexander Zverev ahead of the tournament decided against Milos Raonic.

Kyrgios and McEnroe definitely take the award for the conversation of the weekend and the Australian must have spotted another 'hot chick' in the crowd as he lost in straight sets to Andrea Seppi at the Zhuhai Championships on Wednesday.
