If World Cup bids were actually won off the strength of their presentation then the 2018 World Cup would be being held in England rather than Russia. Hopefully the IRB are more sensible when it comes to awarding their tournament.

Ireland officially launched their bid to hold rugby union's showpiece event in seven years, with the next tournament being held in Tokyo in 2019, by releasing an inspirational video narrated by Taken actor Liam Neeson.

France and South Africa are also set to battle for the right to host the tournament however those two countries have hosted the tournament, in 2007 and 1995 respectively, whilst Ireland has only ever been part of an English World Cup before.
