Wrestling legend Ric Flair has been admitted into hospital and a member of his management team has asked fans to pray for him.

Wrestling news site Pro Wrestling Sheet reported yesterday that Flair was hospitalised for an heart-related issue but it was initially played down by his representative as "routine monitoring"

Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment stressed that there was "no need to panic" and issued the following statement on Twitter:

However, the 16-time world champion's condition appears to have worsened and now Morris Zanoni has posted a worrying message in which she has encouraged "prayers and positive energy" for the Nature Boy, who she says is he suffering from "touch medical issues".

The agency have since posted a message on Facebook calling for well wishes for the 68-year old:

"Did you start watching wrestling because of Ric Flair? Does he entertain you every time you see him? Ever use any of his sayings? Do you have a great Ric Flair story? Do you 'WOOOOO!' every time he's mentioned? Are you a Fan? Friend? If you answered 'Yes' to any of the above, we need your prayers, positive energy, and well wishes for our Living Legend as he is dealing with some tough medical issues. Thank you!"

Flair is widely viewed as one of the greatest performers in the history of professional wrestling, with his innate charisma and in-ring ability taking him to the top of the industry. He is an eight-time NWA world heavyweight champion, a six-time WCW world champion and a two-time WWF champion.

The only wrestler to have been named in the esteemed WWE Hall of Famer on two occasions, first in 2008 as a solo performer, before being inducted again as part of the Four Horsemen faction he was an integral part of in the 80's and 90's.

He continues to have a legends deal with WWE which sees him make occasional appearances as well as have his merchandise stocked by the company. His most recent on-screen role saw him work as manager of his daughter Charlotte Flair, a four-time WWE Raw Women's Champion.

Everyone at SPORTbible sincerely hopes Flair is able to pull through and continue being the 'stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun' that he is.
