Just when you thought the party in Rio was over and the world class athletes had all gone home along come the 'Superhumans,' as Channel 4 brilliantly refers to them as, for the Paralympics and we're blown away at their skill all over again.
The Paralympics kicked off last night in the Maracana with a spectacular opening ceremony with goalball, football, athletics, swimming and wheelchair basketball among the sports that will start on the opening day of The Games.
However the athletes are going to have to go someway to beat the highlight of last night's ceremony. Wheelchair stunt man Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham came hurtling down a 55 foot ramp through a hoop that shot out fireworks, flipping through the hoop in spectacular fashion:
That's some way to start a games that will no doubt show some amazing feats of human will! We can't wait for the action.
