WATCH: WWE Superstars Provide Alternative Commentary On Manchester City Game
| Last updated
Ahead of WWE's live show in Manchester over the weekend, WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler, and Smackdown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, headed over to the Etihad Stadium to watch Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
The two champs from the SmackDown LIVE roster also provided alternative commentary on the game for Manchester City, before they defended their belts at the Manchester Arena that evening.
The 'Lass Kicker' and the 'Show-off' were in the tunnel prior to the game and even had a chat with referee Kevin Friend; perhaps a unique experience being with a official who's duty isn't to count to three and eject people from ringside.
Then the dynamic duo were in a box to take us through the first-half, with the wrestlers giving their take on the action on the pitch.
Both Ziggler and Lynch were filmed giving their thoughts on the first-half of the clash between Pep Guardiola's City and Aitor Karanka's Middlesbrough and they were very much impressed with what they saw. Intercontinental Champion Ziggler instantly became a fan of defender John Stones and uttered phrases such as "24 just faked that dude out of his shoes though" and "Stones holds it, holds it, yeah! He knows what to do".
While Smackdown Women's Champ Lynch stated her admiration for goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who she referred to as her "main man".
Watch the duo discussing the possibility of Alvaro Negredo being a spy who has had a chip planted in his neck by Pep Guardiola, losing their minds when a player is hacked down, waxing lyrical over John Stones and comparing the game to "The Mighty Ducks" film in the clip on Manchester City's Youtube Channel:
We're just waiting for legendary announcer Jim Ross to be drafted in for some Premier League commentary...
