UFC 205 Result: Tyron Woodley Defends UFC Welterweight Title

UFC staged their first event in New York City following the legalisation of the sport in the state, and the promotion went all out delivering an epic card with not one but THREE title fights for UFC 205.

The co-main event pitted newly-minted champion Tyron Woodley who was making the first defence of his welterweight title against No.2 ranked Stephen Thompson.

And 'The Chosen One' has made a successful maiden defence beating Thompson defying the odds who had him as the betting underdog.

The defending champion dropped 'Wonderboy' nearly finishing him with a barrage of punches and knees not to mention a deep guillotine.

Woodley stretches his win streak to four while improving his overall record to 17-3. The 34-year-old may be a keen observer for the main-event after the run-in he had with Conor McGregor.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Woodley and Thompson fought to a majority draw (47-47 x 2 & 48-47)
