Kevin Ferguson Jr., the oldest son of late fighting star Kimbo Slice, will make his professional mixed martial arts debut next month.

Ferguson Jr. is set to make his MMA bow at Bellator 160 in Anaheim, California. Following his amateur debut in March, where he stopped his opponent in dominant fashion starching him in just 83-seconds, he's now entered the pro-ranks.

Early signs indicate the hallmarks of his legendary father with his aggressive nature and punching power. Speaking to AP, he expressed his desire for the sport and knew he was destined to follow in the footsteps of his iconic father.

"I was always around the fight business and everything, so I saw it and I understood what was going on I just knew without a doubt that one day, this was what I wanted to do."

The 23-year-old has only been training full-time for just two years, where he was studying photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco until he decided to don the 4oz gloves.

"I trained (in MMA) a little bit in college, but not really. I was more focused on having fun and partying a little bit, getting that out of my system early. I trained a little bit, like once a week."

'Kimbo Slice' tragically passed away in Florida after suffering heart failure, and 'Baby Slice' is still processing the death while slowly getting through it.

"I won't say I adjusted well or it didn't bother me, but I was talking to him a few days before, so I understood what was going on. It was more of a shock to the world, put it like that. It was still a very big tragedy, but I got through it. I'm still getting through it. I won't say I'm over it, but I'm working on it, I guess."

The promotion have yet to name his opponents though it's expected to be determined soon as the event is headlined by WEC and UFC veteran Benson Henderson who faces Patricio Freire.
