The Greatest Game In Spikeball History Will Actually Blow Your MInd

How is this possible?!

Spikeball is quickly becoming a popular trend on social media, with Norwich City and a number of other Football League clubs using the drill in training.

The last thing you'd expect to see on a muddy, wet Sunday is a trampoline in the middle of a pitch, surrounded by four shot-stoppers, but this is becoming a serious sport - even a dedicated Instagram page is producing regular content on the exercise.

'Spikeball' have over 113k followers on the photo and video sharing website, posting incredible videos on a daily basis, but recently something special happened.

The post captioned: 'rally of the century' has gone viral since it was uploaded earlier this week. Just check this out.

Sunday League football rules state that one player must warm up the goalkeeper by smashing balls at him before-kick off.

No fancy equipment is needed, just a rock hard Mitre ball and goalposts.

In a standard team though, you might have a back up goalkeeper if your lucky, so the last thing you'd expect to see on a muddy, wet Sunday is a trampoline in the middle of a pitch, surrounded by four shot-stoppers.

Championship side Norwich City have brought in a unique training drill that makes us Sunday League players look a bit daft.

'Spikeball' takes a huge amount of skill but it looks like a barrel of laughs.

One man who would smash this drill would be Liverpool's newest recruit, Alisson, who is known for his flair in between the sticks.

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson was preparing for his nation's opening World Cup match against Switzerland by performing some silky skills in the nation's recent training session.

Alisson was Tite's number one at the World Cup, but with this trickery, he could have arguably challenged Neymar and co. to a place in attack.

You don't see a goalkeeper doing this very often.
